A ceiling height of over 24 feet delivers an ambience of elegant grandeur while state-of-the-art lighting and sound design ensure maximum event efficiency. With 7,000 square feet of convenient prefunction space just outside the doors, there’s plenty of extra room for receptions, registration, and more. The Grand Ballroom’s prefunction space features floor-to-ceiling windows, providing a spectacular westward view of Springfield’s most renowned symbols, First Church, Court Square and the Municipal Group’s Campanile Tower.

Your hosts Lynn & Peter Hartman own and operate the Herb Farm with 4 operating greenhouses, herb & gift shop, and delightful, relaxing flower & herb gardens. Set on 23 acres this reproduction colonial home was rebuilt after a fire destroyed the original home in 1989. The ‘Great Room’ is a private living/dining room where guests can relax and enjoy a cup of tea or a nice warm fire on a cold fall/winter evening. Also available is a post & beam dining room with an additional garden room for weddings, meetings, showers, parties, etc. seating is available for up to 140 people.

Since you select and retain the caterer of your choice, options for your wedding celebration are limited only by your imagination!

When you contract with the Carriage House at the Barney Estate, you secure a license to enjoy our unique estate and grounds, set amidst the beauty of Forest Park. We can provide a listing of professional vendors, or we will gladly work with a licensed and insured professional of your choice. Our experienced and highly professional function manager will assist in coordinating arrangements with the vendors your select to be part of your wedding day. This exceptional service is provided as part of your contract with the Carriage House. Our staff is available during your wedding day celebration in Forest Park, to attend to whatever needs you may have.



We reserve only one wedding at a time, so your dream day is shared only with your invited guests.
